Victor Simha, CSSBB, ITILv3, PMP, President Elect
Victor Simha has 30+ years of experience working in IT & Data Analytics.
Victor has been a Director of Business Intelligence at The Christ Hospital as well as a consultant working at organizations such as Ohio Health and as a BI Manager in the data management group of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
In addition, Victor life sciences experience from his years at Ethicon Endo Surgery where he was the manager of marketing analytics.
Victor has certificates in Epic Ambulatory, Project Management, ITILv3 and is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Fred Bishop, CSO HIMSS Treasurer
Fred Bishop has been in IT since 1995 working full time while attending the University of Cincinnati where he completed his BS in IT (1998). He also holds a BBA in Finance and Management (1993). For several years Fred worked as a consultant for a small local IT firm, performing object oriented application development and support, relational database design and administration, and windows desktop/server support for various local SMBs.
In 2001, he transitioned into healthcare IT and was hired as the Director of IT at Alliance Behavioral Care, a managed behavioral health organization. After that, Fred was also the IT Director at The Lindner Center of HOPE, an Inpatient / Outpatient Psychiatric facility in Mason, OH. He continued working there through late 2014 before taking his present position as the Information Security Officer for UC Health. Fred has passed the ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) exam and by mid-2018 will have completed the remaining requirements to earn his CISM certification.
In his role as Information Security Officer, Fred believes strongly in educating users and leadership and regularly presents to new hires and various departments within UC Health and developed annual Information Security training for UC Health. He also participates in Information Security roundtables with his local healthcare colleagues and has provided talks and moderated sessions to external groups including breakout sessions at the CSO HIMSS 2016 and 2017 Fall Conferences.
Lisa has over twenty years in healthcare, healthcare IT and service organizations’ business operations. As a project manager that transitioned into operations based role, she brought her consulting field expertise with her as she supported an over 250 person organization for overall talent management.
Originally a licensed RN, Lisa has a solid healthcare industry understanding which enables her to understand the demand for resources in the healthcare provider market exceptionally well.
She holds her certification as a Human Capital Strategist, through the Human Capital Institute. Lisa commands a strong understanding of the global workforce, dealing in the virtual world of staffing service consultants from a worldwide pool of resources.
Lisa has served the board in past Secretary and Programming chair positions. She welcomes the opportunity to work closely with the membership to ensure their needs are met! Lisa also was recently elected to the HIMSS Professional Development committee for a two year term.
Richard (Rick) Moore consults on healthcare information technology (HIT) projects working with many public and private organizations on a wide range of HIT topics. He is the current Central and Southern Ohio HIMSS (CSOHIMSS) Advocacy Chairman and Eastern Regional Chair for the HIMSS Chapter Advocacy Roundtable. He received the HIMSS Chapter Advocate of the Year Award in 2016. He is a Past President of CSOHIMSS (2010), VP/Treasurer, past HIMSS HIE Liaison for the State of Ohio, past HIMSS National Chair for the RHIO Roundtable (2008-2009) and advisor to the HIMSS HIE Steering Committee.
Rick has been on multiple Medicaid projects for the states of Washington, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. These projects range from the creation of new Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) State Self-Assessment (SS-A), Eligibility Determination System analysis and currently project management with DXC for the Ohio Medicaid MITS system. He has consulted on HIT projects for payer systems and worked for Anthem Health for many years helping to implement managed care systems for Anthem entities across the United States. He also has consulted on Health Information Exchange (HIE) projects, Electronic Health Record (EHR) projects, Provider Revenue Cycle projects, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) projects, HIPAA training and implementation projects, ACA projects and Healthcare.gov projects.
He started the Ohio HIMSS Advocacy Day back in 2008 and has tranformed it into what is today, the Ohio Healthcare Information Technology (OHIT) Day at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium each year.
Caitlin Graham, Program Chair
Caitlin leads the provider account management, implementation and analytics teams for CoverMyMeds. In the past six years she has advised some of the top health systems in the U.S., launched CoverMyMeds’ first EHR partnerships and helped grow the CoverMyMeds platform to over 700,000 users.
Caitlin is an active member of HIMSS, a wellness advocate and passionate supporter of CoverMyMeds' mission to get patients the medication they need to live healthy lives.
Samantha McCarthy, Marketing Chair
Samantha McCarthy is the Events Manager for CoverMyMeds, focused on industry tradeshow execution and strategy. Sam has been with CoverMyMeds for four years. Previously, she was an account coordinator where she assisted users on how to navigate the CoverMyMeds portal to submit electronic prior authorization requests. In addition, she has spent time as a marketing coordinator where she worked with large payer partners to drive provider adoption.
Prior to CoverMyMeds, Sam was a group sales and marketing manager for the Dublin Convention and Visitors Bureau where she promoted Dublin, Ohio as a destination to hold meetings and events.
Sam is a graduate of Capital University where she majored in marketing.
Russ Hessler has been involved in healthcare in both ambulatory and inpatient facilities for over 20 years. Currently he manages the Medical Records and Utilization Review departments at Madison County Hospital in London Ohio. He has served on the CSOHIMSS board in various capacities in the past, including as President and Past President of the Board and Membership Chair. Russ seeks continued involvement in HIMSS on both the local and national level.
Alex Vaillancourt, Board Member at Large
Alex Vaillancourt is Vice President, Enterprise Program Management for CareSource, a Dayton OH based healthcare insurance company and leader in population health for its Medicaid members in 5 states. In his current role, he provides oversight of the organization’s project portfolio across all lines of business.
Alex has over 20 years of experience in the Healthcare IT industry in leadership roles in a large ambulatory practice, a community hospital, a large health system, as well as payer and vendor environments. He is an active member of both the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME); organizations that strive to further the mission of what information and technology can do to improve patient care.
Jeff Haas, Board Member at Large Candidate
Jeff is responsible for the Inpatient Clinical Application environment at Premier Heath, which includes Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital South, Miami Valley Hospital North, Atrium Medical Center, and Upper Valley Medical Center. Jeff leads a team of 60 clinical application members, ranging from Team Leaders, Project Managers and Programmer Analysts supporting the Emergency Departments, Cardiology, Surgery/Anesthesia, Laboratory, Medical Imaging/Radiology, Pharmacy, and Inpatient Clinical Documentation and Orders. Prior to this role, Jeff was responsible for establishing the implementation and support teams to execute Premier Health's Ambulatory “Community Connect” outreach solution to employed and affiliated physicians in the South West Ohio market.
Prior to this, Jeff served as a Medical Imaging consultant, PACS Administrator and Project Manager. Jeff has a Master’s Degree in Organization Development and Change from Kent State University.
Adam Rossbach, HIE Liason
Adam Rossbach serves as Chief Technical Strategist of CliniSync focused in new research and development for the organization, creating strategies and exploring innovation as CliniSync moves forward.
He previously held the position of Director of the Health Information Exchange (HIE) for the CliniSync HIE and worked with a team of professionals who implemented 151 hospitals statewide so they can exchange patient health information with physicians and other providers. Adam was also the Chief of Staff's Special Project Manager at the Ohio Department of Insurance where he became engaged on several data exchange initatives including the formation of the Ohio Health Information Partnership in 2009.
Prior to that, he served as staff liaison to the legislative advisory committee on House Bill 125 to the 128th General Assembly. He wrote the committee’s final report, which recommended standardization in electronic communications and interoperability among healthcare providers and insurance companies in Ohio, specifically in the areas of web-based eligibility and real time claims adjudication. He also worked on applications and projects for the Governor’s Office, the Office of Budget and Management, and the Department of Administrative Services. Adam earned a B.A. in humanities at Michigan State University.
Donna Evans - Scholarship Chair
Donna has over twenty years’ experience in Information Technology, Insurance and Higher Education. Donna’s interests include all aspects of Health Information Technology and particularly how it relates to culture and ethics. Donna teaches courses in Ethics and Technology, Global and Strategic Issues in Information Technology and Health Information Technology in the Miami University Health Information Technology degree program. She holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in MIS from Miami University, as well as a Bachelor of Science with majors in Marketing and Finance. Donna is on the Fulbright Specialist Roster and is a Senior Member of HIMSS and holds the CPHIMS certification.
David Duggan, Sponsor Chair
David Duggan serves as an Account Manager for Direct Consulting Associates and has worked in Business Development since 2011. Currently, David focuses exclusively in the Healthcare IT space, partnering with Healthcare Providers and their IT leadership teams to provide customized human capital solutions that span the entirety of the Healthcare IT spectrum. David serves the Midwest U.S. with a heavy focus in his home state of Ohio. David is a graduate of the University of Toledo, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, including concentrations in Marketing and International Business. He is also actively involved with the HIMSS organization on both the Regional and National levels.
Scott Gaines - Board member at Large
Scott is a seasoned health IT professional with experience developing and leading new
markets for innovative, high-growth companies. Scott is currently SVP and General Manager
of CoverMyMeds’ provider business, where he is responsible for strategy, innovation and performance of solutions that streamline the medication prescribing process for providers.
Prior to joining CoverMyMeds, Scott spent nine years with Hyland, the creator of OnBase, in
implementation, consulting and business development roles. He most recently helped lead
the expansion of Hyland’s healthcare practice into international markets. In this role, Scott
advised world-renowned healthcare organizations in Europe, the Middle East, Australia and
Scott is active in the health IT industry and currently serves as a member of the HIMSS
Innovation Committee, a board advisor to Central & Southern Ohio chapter of HIMSS, and a
member of the Technology Development Fund Advisory Committee at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
